Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Salary: £70,000–£80,000+ gross per annum
Accommodation: 3-bedroom Gatehouse Cottage provided on site, with garden & utilities included
Leaman Consulting is seeking an experienced and proactive Domestic Couple to oversee the smooth running and upkeep of a beautiful listed private residence in Stanmore, HA7, belonging to an UHNW international family.
The family are based in Italy and use their UK home periodically throughout the year, generally for holidays, family visits and occasional events. The couple will act as the eyes and ears of the family in the UK, ensuring the property is maintained to an exceptional standard and ready for the family whenever they arrive.
The Role
This is a hands-on position suited to a capable and highly proactive couple who take genuine pride in the care of a property. The successful candidates will be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting issues and liaising with contractors and suppliers, reporting back to the family’s PA in Italy.
Responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the main house and guest house
Liaising with contractors, carrying out due diligence, asking the right questions and troubleshooting issues
Providing regular maintenance updates and reports to the family PA
Working alongside the existing cleaner and providing housekeeping support
Deep cleaning, laundry and ironing, particularly when the family are in residence
Preparing the property ahead of family and guest arrivals
Cooking fresh, simple and enjoyable family-style meals when the family are in residence
Supporting informal family gatherings and events of up to approximately 25–30 guests, including buffet preparation, table setting and front-of-house support
Driving the family’s V-Class for errands, airport transfers and occasional journeys into London
Assisting with occasional seasonal estate work, including supporting the gardening team with the tennis courts, grounds and vegetable garden when required
Supporting the wider estate team and ensuring the grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard
The estate comprises approximately 35 acres of grounds and woodland, with a tennis court, swimming pool and vegetable garden. The main Grade II listed residence has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, alongside a four-bedroom guest house which will also require regular care and preparation.
The Ideal Couple
We are looking for a reliable, discreet and hands-on couple who are confident working independently and take real pride in their surroundings. Both candidates should be practical and capable, with the ability to identify issues, find solutions and manage contractors effectively.
One should be a good, confident cook, comfortable preparing relaxed, high-quality family meals and supporting occasional entertaining. A confident driver is also essential.
Previous experience working within a private household or estate.
