Current role

ER Change Manager - 6 Month FTC

Experienced ER Change Manager to lead complex restructures, redundancies and organisational change for a well-established North London organisation on an initial 6-month FTC.

Role overview

North London | Hybrid - 2 days in the office
£53,800 FTE
Full-time or 4 days per week

We are recruiting an experienced ER Change Manager for a long-standing client of ours, a well-established organisation based in North London.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on organisational change and cost-saving projects, including restructures, redundancies, consultation and contractual change. Alongside this, there will also be the opportunity to support a broader range of Employee Relations matters, with some flexibility around the balance depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience.

Working closely with the Head of Employee Relations and senior stakeholders, you will take ownership of the ER aspects of change projects, helping to ensure proposals are practical, legally compliant and managed fairly and effectively.

The role will include:

  • Leading the ER aspects of restructuring, redundancy and contractual change projects
  • Working with stakeholders to understand the financial, operational and people drivers behind proposed changes
  • Reviewing and challenging proposals where appropriate, identifying potential ER, legal, procedural or reputational risks
  • Supporting the development of robust business cases and ensuring the people implications are properly considered
  • Managing consultation and redundancy processes from planning through to implementation
  • Advising managers and senior stakeholders on UK employment law, ACAS guidance and appropriate process
  • Preparing and reviewing consultation documentation, formal correspondence and other ER documentation
  • Attending and supporting formal consultation meetings
  • Working with a varied stakeholder group, including senior leaders, managers and community stakeholders
  • Supporting wider Employee Relations matters alongside the change programme as required

We are looking for someone with strong Employee Relations experience and a proven background in organisational change, particularly restructures, redundancies, consultation and contractual change.

You will need excellent knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance, together with the confidence to identify risk, challenge where necessary and provide clear, practical advice.

This role needs someone who can operate at a senior level but is also happy to remain very hands-on. You will be comfortable drafting documentation, managing consultation processes and working through the detail rather than simply providing high-level advice.

You will be dealing with a broad range of stakeholders, so the ability to build relationships quickly and bring people with you through sometimes difficult change will be particularly important. We are looking for someone calm, pragmatic and resilient, who can challenge appropriately while maintaining positive working relationships.

Previous experience within a multi-site, unionised, charity or values-led organisation would be useful but isn't essential.

This is an initial 6-month FTC, with the possibility of extension, paying £53,800 FTE. The client can consider either full-time or 4 days per week, with hybrid working and 2 days per week in the North London office.
