Role overview
We are looking for a warm, experienced and proactive Temporary Live-in Nanny to join a welcoming family in Kensington for one month, covering their existing nanny whilst she returns home.
The family currently employs two nannies, and the successful candidate will work alongside the remaining nanny to provide attentive, nurturing care for two lovely boys, aged 18 months and 3 years.
Both children have well-established routines, and the family is looking for someone who can step in seamlessly, maintain consistency and ensure the boys continue to enjoy their usual activities and daily structure.
The eldest boy attends nursery on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The Role
- Providing attentive, engaging and age-appropriate care for both boys.
- Maintaining their established daily routines, including meals, naps and bedtime.
- Planning fun, stimulating and educational activities, both at home and outdoors.
- Preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
- Supporting nursery drop-offs and pick-ups as required.
- Managing the children's laundry, keeping their bedrooms and play areas tidy, and organising their belongings.
- Assisting with general household duties, including tidying, laundry and keeping communal areas organised, particularly when the children are in the care of the other nanny.
- Working collaboratively with the family's existing nanny to ensure the smooth running of the children's daily routines and the household.
The family also employs a cleaner, so deep cleaning is not required. However, the successful candidate should be happy to take a hands-on approach to general housekeeping when childcare responsibilities allow.
Childcare remains the primary focus of the position, but the family is looking for someone flexible, proactive and willing to help with the general running of the household.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in caring for toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Warm, energetic, engaging and genuinely passionate about childcare.
- Confident working alongside another nanny in a private household.
- Organised, reliable and comfortable following established routines.
- A confident cook who enjoys preparing healthy meals for young children.
- Happy to assist with general housekeeping alongside childcare duties.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to settle quickly into a new household.
- Reliable, discreet and comfortable working in a private family home.
- Available for the full duration of the assignment.
Accommodation
The successful candidate will have their own private bedroom on the top floor of the family home, on the same floor as the children's bedrooms.
