Role overview
We are seeking an experienced, professional and highly organised Housekeeper for a long-term position within a private household in Pimlico.
The property is a beautifully maintained, three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment of approximately 200 square metres, with high-quality furnishings and luxury finishes. The household also has a small dog.
The family is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper who takes genuine pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can confidently manage the day-to-day upkeep of the home with minimal supervision.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private Housekeeper seeking a stable, long-term position with consistent weekday hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property.
- Carry out daily housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping and thorough cleaning of bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas.
- Manage all laundry, ironing and specialist garment care, ensuring clothing and delicate fabrics are handled appropriately.
- Organise and maintain wardrobes, including clothing categorisation, seasonal wardrobe rotation and general wardrobe management.
- Identify garments requiring professional dry cleaning and ensure appropriate care of delicate and high-value clothing.
- Clean and maintain luxury surfaces, including natural stone, delicate furniture and specialist finishes, using suitable products and techniques.
- Proactively organise cupboards, storage areas and household items, ensuring everything is kept tidy and in its designated place.
- Monitor household cleaning supplies and flag items requiring replenishment.
- Anticipate household needs and independently identify areas requiring additional attention.
- Maintain a consistently organised, welcoming and beautifully presented home.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Housekeeper within high-end private households.
- Excellent knowledge of professional housekeeping standards and specialist cleaning techniques.
- Previous experience using Laurastar ironing systems is highly desirable.
- Strong laundry and garment care skills, including experience handling delicate fabrics, luxury clothing and high-value items.
- A thorough understanding of appropriate cleaning products for natural stone, fine furnishings and delicate surfaces.
- Excellent organisational skills, particularly in wardrobe management and household organisation.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently without constant direction.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining the highest standards.
- Discreet, trustworthy, reliable and professional.
- Comfortable working in a household with a small dog.
- Excellent, verifiable references from previous private employers.
- Willingness to undergo relevant background checks.
Working Hours & Salary
The preferred schedule is Monday to Friday, 11:00am–4:00pm, totalling 25 hours per week.
The salary is £25 to 30 gross per hour, depending on experience.
