Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident, enthusiastic and engaging Rota Nanny to join a fully staffed international private household, caring for a bright and inquisitive young girl.
We are looking for a fun, playful and genuinely passionate nanny who loves spending time with children, enjoys getting involved in games and activities, and can bring positivity, energy and consistency to everyday life.
The ideal candidate will be warm, approachable and nurturing, but equally confident in setting clear boundaries and maintaining them. A firm but fair approach is particularly important, alongside the ability to encourage good manners, independence, positive behaviour and emotional development.
Previous experience supporting children with behavioural challenges would be highly advantageous. A qualification, professional experience or background in psychology or child development would also be particularly welcome.
The primary focus of this position is providing exceptional, hands-on childcare, with an emphasis on play, positive engagement and building a strong relationship with the child.
The Role
- Provide high-quality, hands-on childcare in a nurturing, stimulating and structured environment.
- Actively engage in play, games, creative activities and adventures, bringing enthusiasm and imagination to the child's daily life.
- Plan and organise fun, age-appropriate activities, outings and experiences.
- Establish and maintain clear routines, expectations and consistent boundaries.
- Encourage good manners, positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
- Take a calm, firm but fair approach when managing challenging situations.
- Support the child's emotional wellbeing and encourage positive ways of expressing feelings.
- Encourage outdoor play, physical activities, creativity and new interests.
- Take full responsibility for the child when parents are unavailable, including occasional overnight care or independent international travel with the child if required.
- Work collaboratively with the existing childcare and educational team.
- Maintain continuity of care between rota handovers.
- Be proactive and willing to lend a hand to the wider household team when the child is at school, as required.
- Accompany the family on international travel.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong professional experience as a Nanny or Rota Nanny, ideally within UHNW or high-profile private households.
- A genuine passion for childcare, with a fun, energetic, playful and engaging personality.
- Someone who actively enjoys playing with children rather than simply supervising activities.
- Confident in establishing boundaries, following through with expectations and providing consistent guidance.
- A firm but fair approach, combining warmth and patience with natural authority.
- Previous experience supporting children with behavioural challenges is highly desirable.
- A qualification, experience or background in psychology, child development or a related discipline is highly advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Confident taking sole charge, including when parents are travelling or unavailable for extended periods.
- Proactive, organised, adaptable and happy to assist the household team when needed.
- Comfortable working within a fully staffed household and alongside other childcare professionals.
- Previous international travel experience.
- Fluent English essential; additional languages advantageous.
- EU passport or existing right to work in the EU essential.
- Driving licence advantageous.
- Pet-friendly
Working Arrangements
- Location: Europe, with international travel
- Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, with some flexibility in shift patterns to accommodate changing family circumstances
- Salary: £80,000–£100,000+ gross per annum, negotiable depending on experience
- Start Date: ASAP
