Current role

Rota nanny in Holland Park

A fantastic rota opportunity caring primarily for a 4-year-old within a warm international family based between Holland Park, Milan and travelling worldwide.

Role overview

An international family based in Holland Park is looking for an experienced, warm and proactive Rota Nanny to join their household on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule.

The family currently has a 4-year-old daughter, a 5 weeks old, and is expecting their second child shortly. A Maternity Nurse will be employed to care for the babies until March, allowing the incoming nanny to focus primarily on the eldest child initially, while gradually becoming familiar with the baby and supporting the family as they transition into life with three children.

The 4-year-old attends nursery in both London and Milan. In London, she attends two full days and three half days per week, while in Milan she attends nursery on a part-time basis.

The family is looking for a nanny who is confident taking responsibility for the children’s day-to-day routines, development and wellbeing, and who will bring warmth, energy and consistency across both homes and during travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, engaging and developmentally appropriate care for the 4-year-old.
  • Supporting the child’s nursery routine, including drop-offs, pick-ups and preparing everything required for the nursery day.
  • Planning age-appropriate activities, outings, playdates and educational activities around the nursery schedule.
  • Supporting the child’s development, independence, manners and age-appropriate learning.
  • Preparing fresh, nutritious and varied meals for the children – confidence and enjoyment in cooking is important for this role. There are currently no food allergies.
  • Managing children’s belongings, wardrobes, toys and nursery items and keeping their areas organised.
  • Supporting the family’s routines across their London and Milan homes and providing consistency between locations.
  • Working collaboratively with the Maternity Nurse following the arrival of the new baby.
  • Gradually becoming involved with the baby’s care as appropriate, with a view to supporting both children once the Maternity Nurse finishes in March.
  • Packing and preparing for travel and ensuring the children’s routines run smoothly while away.
  • Travelling internationally with the family as required.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with the parents and other household staff.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced professional nanny with strong rota and international experience. They will be warm, nurturing and engaging, while also highly organised and confident working autonomously.

Experience caring for both preschool-aged children and babies is important, particularly as the position will develop into a role supporting both children once the Maternity Nurse finishes.

The family would particularly value someone who enjoys cooking and is confident preparing healthy, varied children’s meals from scratch.

The nanny should be comfortable moving regularly between London, Milan and international destinations, and able to provide continuity and stability for the children regardless of location.

This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced rota nanny looking to join an international family at an exciting stage of family life.
