We are looking for someone with a strong bookkeeping background, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, family office or professional services environment, who enjoys taking ownership of their work and managing a varied workload.
This is an interesting and responsible position combining multi-client bookkeeping, payroll management and wider financial administration. You will be working closely with a small professional team and dealing with confidential financial matters where accuracy, discretion and attention to detail are paramount.
The role will include:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple clients, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Processing and overseeing client payroll, including PAYE, pensions, starters, leavers and salary adjustments.
- Bank reconciliations, supplier payments, invoicing and month-end procedures.
- Assisting with VAT returns and HMRC reporting.
- Supporting Companies House compliance and relevant KYC/AML requirements.
- Liaising with clients and responding to financial and payroll queries.
- Reviewing existing systems and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
About you:
You will have several years' solid bookkeeping experience and be confident managing multiple accounts, prioritising deadlines and working with minimal supervision.
Experience within an accountancy practice, family office or professional services environment would be particularly attractive.
A good understanding of payroll processes is important, although further training will be provided. Knowledge of Xero, Sage, IRIS or Sage Payroll would be advantageous, along with strong Excel skills.
We are looking for someone bright, switched-on and technically confident who enjoys getting things right. You will be proactive, exceptionally organised and comfortable dealing with clients and sensitive financial information.
AAT or CIPP qualifications would be welcomed but are not essential. Your practical experience, approach and ability to take ownership will be equally important.
The package includes:
- £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
- Flexible working hours.
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
- Enhanced pension scheme.
- Private healthcare.
- Long-term career development within an established professional firm.
A super opportunity for a personable, capable and conscientious Bookkeeper looking for a varied role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop further.
