a superb role has arisen for a degree standard  Senior Private PA with 10 years + as a Private PA and in depth experience with large renovations and recruiting and mentoring household staff (both in the UK and Europe)

Supporting a very hands on and likeable Principal who has 4 grown children and 5 properties (to include a large central London home, ski chalet and country estate all fully staffed.

You will lead by example and be very hands on and flexible.  Able to build relationships quickly and be at the front of the recruitment process with regards to Household Staff and keeping things running smoothly.  Staff management and pre-empting problems will come as second nature to you and you will be a collaborative team player who is able to get the best out of people.       

You will travel to the various properties about once every two months and spend a little time at the ski chalet during the season.  Flexible to travel should there be an urgent matter that needs attending.

The Principal will count on you to be a true right hand in all aspects so your reliability and commitment must be 100%.  Able to think outside of the box and contribute when needed the Principal is involved in all aspects of the design and rebuild of their large Central London property and dealing with the other properties so you will work closely with the Principal throughout the renovation.  You will organise maintenance, suppliers, trades and schedules for the properties and keep everything up to scratch.

The house in Central London will be where your office will eventually be situated.  You will have excellent emotional intelligence and be able to judge circumstances clearly and make good judgement calls.

You will have excellent diary, logistics and travel management (including private jet) conversant with all modern tech and be able to prioritise and plan ahead with ease.  You will be used to an ever changing schedule and diary and shift plans accordingly.  A top communicator who can discuss matters to staff and  the Principal with ease.  Good humoured, intelligent and hard working.

Happy to turn your hand to anything, your flexibility and can do attitude will shine in this role.  Some spoken French would be a plus but not essential

House Manager for Large Formal Home in London

UHNW client is looking for an experienced House Manager who is capable on taking on a large household team. You will have an ability to oversee maintenance projects with effectively managing the finance inventory and minimise wastage and spending. The client wants to overhaul some processes that are outdated and the House Manager will be to effectively implement these and support and guide the household team in adapting to these changes.
You will provide leadership position for all house staff indicated, and be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the staff and clients.
As the House Manager you will have complete authority, responsibility and accountability as it encompasses the house, except where authority is expressly denied.
You must have the ability and understanding to work flexible days/hours as needed based on demand of the house.
You must have worked as a House Manager in a large, fully staffed and busy household.

Your duties as the House Manager will include but are not limited to:
Planning

  • The ability to develop, with the aid of key staff members, strategies and programs to ensure the attainment of the house goals and objectives.
  • The ability to prepare a comprehensive annual operating plan, for all departments in the house with addendum plans for maintenance, repair, sanitation, energy conservation and uniform replacement.
  • The ability to prepare an annual capital expenditure plan.
  • The ability to prepare salary administration plan.


Organising

  • The ability to ensure the house has an organisation chart showing both structure and people that is compatible with the financial plans of the house discussed.
  • The ability to recruit staff when needed, ensuring the candidates meet the job role & specifications.
  • Work with management to develop and install a system of standards of performance, whereby everyone may objectively appraise their own performance.
  • Develop objectives for all staff pertaining to their functional responsibilities, that contribute to the achievement of the house goals.
  • Implement performance planning and review all staff, according to established performance standards and mutually agreed upon results to budgeted plans.


Administration

  • Set clear guidelines and ensure that these are adhered to throughout all house operations.
  • Schedule meetings to ensure coordination and open lines of communication.
  • Maintain employee break areas at high standard of cleanliness and attractiveness - visibly demonstrating to all staff an on-going interest in their welfare.
  • Set minimum acceptable standards of quality, operation and service as benchmark point of self-measurement.
  • Supervise all staff in carrying out their operations responsibilities and tasks, coordinating efforts and establishing priorities where necessary.
  • Approve house paperwork such as daily accounting work, month end reports and other essential forms as needed.
  • Maintain to supervise staff performance, ensuring direction is given where needed.
  • Review energy saving programs and plans on monthly basis.
  • Ensure procedures for emergency situations are written and distributed and familiar to all employees.
  • Ensure audits are conducted as requested.


Leadership

  • Lead with intellectual and emotional maturity, practising consulting supervision and observing ethical business practices.
  • The ability to represent the interest of the house and all its personnel in fair, impartial and equitable manner.
  • The ability to respond properly in any house emergency or safety situation.


Communication

  • Keep the principal and management informed about the condition of house and all-important factors influencing its operation.
  • Coordinate the efforts of supporting management, where calling them for such advice and assistance as deemed advisable.
  • Cooperate effectively with all sharing mutual interest, concerns advice and specialised knowledge.
  • Convey clear instructions, guidance with proper intent to achieve a unity of purpose. The ability to establish working relationships that will attain a high-level of employee morale.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the client.
  • Maintain open working relationship with everyone.

A lovely family living in Richmond is looking for an experienced nanny/housekeeper to join them and help with their two children and ensure the smooth running of the house.
General nanny duties will be required - organising fun and educational activities, preparing healthy and balanced meals for the family, general housekeeping duties and running a few errands.
The role will be shared with the mum, you will be working in partnership throughout the week. There will be full days of sole childcare, and others when duties will be mixed. The family is looking for a team player with a positive and professional attitude.
They are flexible on which days you could work; the role would average 30 hours per week. Occasional babysitting might be needed (some weekend work if you can!)
The children are in a good routine and have a nanny currently. The oldest (G4) is at preschool locally and will be starting Reception in September. UHNW background is essential and experience overseeing a high level of staff from housekeepers to house managers and chefs etc.  Excellent with budgets and reports and able to produce a comprehensive report on expenditure on a monthly basis.

Project manage any household repairs/purchases and necessary requirements.  Negotiating with suppliers and keeping up to date with current trends.  Research for the Principals on both business and personal matters.  Dealing with service provider for technology for the household and security matters.
