Live Out Housekeeper in Chelsea SW10

Job Descriptions

We’re looking for a professional live out housekeeper with solid private household experience for a residence in Chelsea.  You will be working alongside other members of staff so it is essential that you can work well as part of a professional team.  You will report to the Butler/House Manager.  The Principal is in residence roughly 70% of the time, and during the periods that they are in residence you will need to be on duty and available at all times.  There is time off given in lieu where the Principal is away.  You will have excellent housekeeping skills and be responsible for maintaining the household, as well as laundry and ironing.  You will be confident working with a high-end wardrobe.  You will have experience in caring for works of art and fine fittings and fixtures.  You will be responsible for maintaining the stock level of household cleaning supplies.  Good family style cooking skills will be appreciated, but are not essential.  The Principal is an excellent employer, and values discretion, professionalism and flexibility.

Duties will include:
•    Cleaning the Property to an immaculate standard;
•    Hoovering, polishing, dusting, doing the laundry and washing delicate garments by hand;
•    Ironing, putting the rubbish out on designated days, cleaning brass surfaces, washing and cooking;
•    Responsibility for all of the Principal’s clothes and arranging for dry cleaning and for carrying out the washing and ironing of the Principal’s clothes; packing and unpacking
•    Cleaning and/or polishing the Principal’s shoes as appropriate;
•    Changing and making beds
•    Dealing with visitors and guests;
•    Supervising contractors whilst in the Property;
•    Buying and collecting shopping, or putting away online deliveries and keeping fridge stocked;
•    Helping the Butler/Chef to serve meals as required.  Cooking skills are not essential, but would be a real asset.
•    Assisting as required in preparing for and serving at receptions, dinner parties, drinks parties and other events;
•    Working as a team with the other housekeeper (works weekends), Butler and part-time Chef

Days of work:     Mon-Fri, with some flexibility 

Hours of work:    08:30-17:30 with occasional variation if needed for an evening event or (maybe once a month)

Salary:                   up to 42K for the right person
