Part Time Housekeeper Cook in Chelsea

£13 - £15 per hour DOE

Location: Chelsea, SW10

Hours: Approximately 30 hours a week (ideally Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 10am – 7pm). Hours can be increased/be more flexible for the right candidate.

Salary: £13-15 net per hour depending on the individual experience

 

A loyal, hard-working, and organised individual is required to look after a three-bedroom property in the heart of Chelsea (the family also have a part-time nanny). The family are looking for a professional, discreet, energetic, and proactive housekeeper cook, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. The right candidate will have a can-do attitude and a high level of attention to detail. Common sense is essential. The role will include typical housekeeping duties such as daily cleaning of the home, deep cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms, and keeping on top of all laundry. Preparing healthy, wholesome meals for the family will also be a significant daily aspect of the role, thus a keen interest in cooking is required. The family have two children (boys, aged 3 and 6), one of which has a few allergies; therefore, the right candidate must also be responsible, vigilant and enjoy working with children. A driver is not essential and holiday travel will rarely be required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • General household cleaning and tidying (keeping the home well-kept, neat, and organised)
  • Daily cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms
  • Keeping refrigerator clean and discarding out-of-date items
  • Cleaning the oven
  • Making all beds within the home
  • All hoovering and dusting
  • Cleaning the inside of windows
  • All laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
  • Preparing healthy meals for the family (special attention to be paid to serving nutritious/organic meals)
  • Running errands and organising the home (post office, dry cleaning, food shopping)
  • Answering the door and receiving deliveries
  • Watering household plants and flower arranging
  • Packing overnight bags for weekends away and/or holidays
  • Infrequent evening babysitting (always agreed in advance)
  • Infrequently accompanying the family on holidays (always agreed in advance)

Experience/Skills/Characteristics

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Flexible regarding the tasks which they are required to complete in the household
  • Relevant experience as a housekeeper cook working in a similar private environment
  • A proactive and responsible attitude
  • Discretion and loyalty
  • A strong work ethic and good time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and good command of the English language
  • Must be eligible to work in UK
  • A British passport is preferred but not essential
  • Have a current DBS check, or willing to initiate a new one
  • Non-smoker is essential
  • Checkable references
