Temporary Laundress in London

Job Description

We are looking for a top notch Laundress/Housekeeper to join a small household team in central London on a temporary basis for 3 days a week (mid October to late January). The role is mostly to take care of all the laundry and ironing for a family of 3 (including a toddler) + any visitors. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of caring for high end garments and ideally will have worked in private households as a Laundress previously. You will also help out with general cleaning of the apartment as and when needed.

The family also employ a full time Housekeeper/Cook and a part time Housekeeper/Household Assistant and a Nanny.

Duties include:

• Hand washing, machine washing, steaming, ironing and arranging for external dry cleaning
• Help with other household cleaning when required such as hoovering, mopping, tidying, cleaning bathrooms etc
• Keeping wardrobes tidy and organized
• Reporting any problems, any breakages, safety hazards and any maintenance issues
• Any other random reasonable tasks as requested by the other domestic staff and/or principals

Required:

• Private Household experience
• Good level of English
• Easy commute to NW1
• Great references
• Happy and confident to be around a toddler (there is a Nanny)
• Able to work in a small team
• Polite, respectful and kind at all times

The role can be self employed if the candidate is set up to invoice the client directly, alternatively they will employ you on a temporary basis, 

Hourly rate will depend on experience, but c. £20-£28 gross per hour.
