Junior Estate Couple for busy role in Oxfordshire.

UHNW client with a large property in Oxfordshire are looking for a junior/secondary couple to help run the property in Oxford, as well as travel with the family when they visit their other main homes in the UK and Europe (France and Switzerland). You will work alongside other staff on the Estate including a Senior Estate Couple (who we placed).

You will be required to travel with the family when visiting their homes outside the main estate. This means going ahead to their chalet in France or Switzerland, ensuring the property is ready for the family’s arrival. Cooking and cleaning the properties whilst the family are in residence. A ski pass will be provided for the couple whilst accompanying the family during the ski season. You must be happy and capable to deal with cooking for larger groups and last minute additions of friends, all quite casually eg. BBQs/ dinner parties at in their Cornwall property etc.

The hours are variable, often including weekend work and evenings. The day normally starts at 8am with getting the papers, letting out the dogs and checking the other animals, but the finish time is very variable (and can be late).  At busy times, the weekly hours may exceed 48 and we understand you are happy to work hours as required. However, as discussed, you will be working with another senior couple and various other staff employed on the estate, and so it will be up to you to agree with them how the work-load is shared around fairly, so as to give everyone sufficient time-off, but ensure that we receive 7-day per week cover.

When the family are away, we do not expect the couple to be in the properties rigid hours 8-5 every day, so long as you deal with all necessary maintenance and are available to supervise any contractors, deal with deliveries and sort out other issues as they come up. This sort of role requires considerable flexibility, sometimes with extra work or jobs at very short notice.

As part of the package, a cottage will be provided on the estate + bills covered.

This would suit a couple who have a seasonal chalet or yachting background or 12-18 months in a land based role. An interest in skiing/surfing or power boating is a plus. One part of the couple MUST be able to cook as you will be acting as chef when the family are on holiday and possibly during shoot season.

Salary is £40,000 - £44,000 gross per year
