Live in or Live Out Housekeeper for family in Amsterdam

Family of 3 are seeking a switched on and proactive housekeeper to join them on a live in or live out basis (if you are based in Amsterdam already).

You must be child friendly as there are 2 children, aged 7 & 9 and the housekeeper will need to assist with school runs and after school activities.

The property is a large 5/6 bedroom home spread over 4 floors, in a wonderful central canal location in Amsterdam.

As the housekeeper you will be responsible for:

  • Daily cleaning, tidying and organising
  • Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management
  • Changing bed linens and towels
  • Buying groceries and other provisions for the house
  • Running errands (dry cleaner, post office etc)
  • Taking the children to and from school if Mum is unable to
  • Handle expensive artwork and vintage items correctly
  • Knowledge of the right cleaning products to use

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a housekeeper within private homes or luxury yachts
  • Enjoy being part of a family environment
  • Have a helpful, hardworking and proactive work attitude

The accommodation if the role is live in, is a self-contained studio apartment (bedroom, bathroom, living/kitchen area) within the main property’s courtyard area.

The working week will generally be 50 -55 hours a week over 5 or 5.5 days depending on the families schedule and if they are in residence or not.

Salary: 30,000 – 40,000 euros, depending on individual experience

UHNW client is looking for a butler for their busy fully staffed household, this is a full time residence.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Serving all meals and snacks throughout the day.
  • Liaising with the chef on the daily menu and presenting to the family.
  • Greeting guests.
  • Dealing with deliveries and returns.
  • Helping with general cleaning and upkeep of the property.
  • Occasional driving duties.

You must have strong experience with food and beverage knowledge as you will be the liasion between the chef in the kitchen and the family. 

The ideal butler candidate will be pro active with good communication skills, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Experience within a more formal enviroment useful.

Normal rota is 3 days on/3 days off (some flexibility required).

Hours usually either 6am-6pm or 11am-11pm with the occasional requirement to stay overnight.

When the family is in residence you will need to be available for up to 6 days a week working 8-10 hours a day driving the family members to various appointments & reservations in a safe and timely manner. Experience of London roads is essential, a car will be provided when on duty and it will be kept at the property, so you will need to live within commutable distance to the Kensington area. As the driver you will need to ensure that the car is kept clean and valeted, and all paperwork up to date.

When the family are not in residence you will need to be flexible to assist the Butler within the home with any maintenance, security or other adhoc duties asked of you.

A professional and experienced House Manager is sought for a busy home in Oxfordshire. This is a live in position, where a 2 bedroom apartment is provided on site.

As the House Manager will be responsible for the smooth domestic running of the house, managing and implementing the daily, weekly, and monthly schedules of the domestic staff team. You will also be responsible recruitment of domestic staff with input from the Estate Manager and family. The House Manager will also carry out performance reviews for the domestic team, as well as managing other employee matters.

Essential: Must have a valid UK driving license, a clean enhanced DBS check/ two references including most recent employer.

Duties will include:

  • Acting as first point of contact for all guests arriving at the house
  • Answering the house phone
  • Serving refreshments and meals
  • Overseeing the household domestic team and offering hands on assistance where necessary
  • Implementing a daily and weekly rota to ensure all domestic duties are achieved (laundry, cleaning of rooms to suit the schedule of the principals, preparation for guests)
  • Liaising with the Chef regarding meals and future events
  • Managing the domestic household budget
