Landscape Gardener Hampshire

£25,000 - £28,000

A Hampshire Estate requires a talented and experienced live-in gardener to work in association with the Estate Manager to transform the existing formal and informal gardens which extend to approximately 4 acres. The position includes aspects of landscape design and implementation, together with ongoing maintenance and the associated project management and purchasing of plants and materials.  
 
The property is situated in over 150 acres of land - and although situated fairly close to towns with good transport links - a passion for rural life is essential. Private onsite accommodation will be provided.
 
The individual must have a keen eye for detail, thorough portfolio of garden design and horticultural experience. A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to embrace and adapt to a variety of tasks is required as well as a self-motivating and positive outlook. 
 
Longevity in the role is expected and you will be joining an existing team of staff who have worked with the family for many years.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with external sources when required (garden designer/architects) 
  • Ordering supplies, preparing the ground, planting and pruning of shrubs, tree and plants, discussing work with Estate Manager and coming up with ideas/solutions for any problems. 
  • Liaising with Estate Manager/Principals as to what is required.  Ability to work well with others. 
  • Physically strong and flexible, creative with design ideas and a passion for practical hands on work.
  • Able to work with plans or produce sketches and designs when required. 
  • Able to use estate machinery for mowing, hedge cutting etc.

Salary: dependent on experience
