What are the Duties of a Nanny in the UK?
The nanny will be able to take responsibility for the daily organisation and running of your children’s routines in a partnership with you. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Physical care of the children
- Have a good understanding of child development
- Taking children to playgroup / nursery / school
- Taking children on outings appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Providing well balanced and nutritious meals appropriate to the needs of the children
- Stimulate your children’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual growth
- Cleaning and tidying the nursery, bedroom, playroom and other areas agreed with the parents
- Cleaning and laundering the children’s clothes and toys
- Preparing for special occasions such as birthday parties
- Caring for children when they are sick and administering medicine(s)
Other duties can be negotiated in each nanny contract.
