Job Description

Domestic Couple Position in Paris (16th arrondissement)
Type: Live out, possibility for live in for right candidate
Start Date: September 2024, interviewing now
Salary: 80,000 - 85,000 euros annually (joint)
Work schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, occasional weekends for events, time off during the day for breaks, gym, etc.

Description:
A sunny and smiley couple is sought to manage a bustling household in Paris. The property is a large 7 bedroom townhouse over 4 floors. The family consists of 5 children and 1 dog, requiring dedicated care and attention.

Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar role
- Flexibility, proactive, and high energy; ability to work long hours when the family are in residence
- French speaking, ideally at least one member of the couple, any additional languages such as Spanish a bonus

Responsibilities:
Butler and Service, Maintenance:
- Opens doors and prepares the house for the day by 7.30/45am
- Prepares breakfast and attends to morning papers
- Manages children's departure just before 8 am
- Drives children as needed
- Coordinates with chef and driver for household needs
- IT tech savvy for managing household electronics
- Organizes formal dinners and manages wine selection
- Oversees contractors and household maintenance
- Sets a welcoming table for formal events
- Demonstrates formal etiquette for VIP guests
- Collaborates with partner to ensure smooth household operations
- Maintains household manuals and garden
- Daily cleaning, valeting skills, and gym maintenance
- Ensuring the safety and security of the household at all times
- Regularly interacting with the Household Manager in relation to property maintenance
- Follow up on contracts for the entire household in collaboration with the Household Manager
- Supervising the maintenance of the garden in collaboration with our trusted suppliers

(Housekeeping, General Management):
- Manages day-to-day cleaning, washing, and ironing
- Handles delicate items and shoe care
- Packs and unpacks for travel
- Runs errands and grocery shopping as needed
- Assists with light cooking when the chef is unavailable
- Presents the home immaculately and behaves with grace and poise
- Efficient multitasker to handle various responsibilities seamlessly
- Purchase of cleaning and home supplies

Qualifications and skills

  • Private household and/or superyacht / yachting background
  • Experience in household and residential service
  • Experience of formal service of fine wine and food
  • Must have basic cooking skills
  • Valeting skills
  • Experience in caring for fine arts, antiques, silver, china and cars
  • Ability to anticipate others' wishes and adapt accordingly
  • Experience in delivery of a discreet, confidential unobtrusive service
  • Experience with having children around and responding to their needs
  • Knows Paris well and is an insider in the city (knows where "the best of" can be found - at the best price)
  • Is thrifty and able to keep a budget for the household

  • Happy to work around children
  • Enjoys looking after the family's pets
  • Flexible and happy to work on weekends when/if necessary
  • Well presented, spoken and charming
  • The couple should be able to be independent but knows the importance of working together to achieve the best results
  • Has great presentation skills and is able to represent the household when necessary
