An experienced, proactive, and friendly couple required for housekeeping/maintenance of a rural home in Norfolk, NR17.
The property is grade I listed and has recently undergone some extensive renovation to all areas. There will be continued refurbishment to out buildings, so ideally you will be able to work alongside the contractors and ensure the security of the property when the owners are not in residence.
The owners are a young at heart couple in their late forties who will split their time between London and Norfolk, being in London on the weekends initially. They tend to travel frequently, so there will be periods of downtime. However, there will be regular guests during the shooting season and every so often during the rest of the year. Two days off per week with flexibility according to when the owners are in residence.
When the clients are not there the hours would be flexible so you would need to work with autonomy however animals require regular feeding times. If they are away, even on days off there would be some animals to feed and check on. When the clients are in residence the hours would be 8am-5pm unless an evening is required and that is where flexibility comes in. Particularly if they have guests with children that require a kitchen supper earlier than the adults.
Duties for this role and will include day to day housekeeping, grocery shopping, laundry/ironing and family cooking. The grounds extend to 37 acres which includes woodland, paddocks, flowerbeds and lawns. There is some lawn mowing but the gardens are easily maintained. There is a moat and 3 cottages sharing the drive with the main house. The largest cottage will be provided as accommodation and is also fully refurbished with a new kitchen and utility area. It is important that the couple enjoy animals as there will be dogs, cats, a small herd of goats, possibly pigs and eventually horses. Basic DIY, mechanical and carpentry skills required plus a valid driver’s licence, as guest will occasionally need to collected from the airport or station.
Fluent English essential however owners are partially Spanish speaking. References essential. £800 net per week with accommodation provided, wifi, phone and car provided.
