Working for an American family of 7 located in Chelsea, central London. The family have a busy lifestyle living and working in London during the week, occasionally spending time at their family home in Surrey during weekends and travelling internationally in school holidays. The children range from 1 – 8 years in age and the family have a Labrador puppy. The household can be described as energetic, fun, relaxed and informal.

The role of Housekeeper / Cook will work alongside the Live in Housekeeper in the smooth running of the family’s main household in London and will provide lunches and dinners for family, guests and staff. This role is 80% cooking 20% housekeeping. The family home is a large 6-bedroom house with a garden, roof terrace, security personnel and separate living quarters for staff. The Housekeeper / Cooks role is a central position within the family household interacting with Children, Nannies, household staff and the family. During School holidays there will also be the requirement to travel to the house in Surrey.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Meal planning using organic, healthy and varied foods

• Strong passion for cooking healthy, varied and relaxed food

• Shopping for ingredients (both via Ocado and local produce – as directed)

• Keeping the kitchen organised and regularly cleaning all cooking utensils

• Deep cleaning the kitchen

• Keep regular stock checks and ensure food is within sell by date

• Prepare and cook meals in a timely manner being aware of the children and adults’ mealtimes

• Prepare homemade baby meals and bottles as needed

• Support Nannies with cooking activities for the children

• Be aware of allergies and intolerances off all the children, family and guests in the house

• Lay tables, clear away meals and tidy kitchen

• Support the children’s Nanny’s with the children’s routines when tidying away after meals

• Prepare healthy snacks, packed lunches with a variety of foods

• Take ownership of the kitchen, larder, supplies and cleanliness and work closely with the live in housekeeper to ensure the house and kitchen are running efficiently at all times.

Hours: Monday – Friday 11am – 8pm (Friday finish at 9pm)

Salary: DOE £ 45,000 - £47,000 gross per year
